Free Services for the Blind Outside of the Library
Perkins Library
The braille and talking book program is a free library service administered by the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS), Library of Congress. Sign up is free!
Patrons of the Perkins Library have access to a world of resources - from braille and audio books to accessible magazines and museum passes. Readers with visual impairment, blindness or physical disability are able to read independently in a format most comfortable to them.

Services at the South Hadley Library
The Library offers for those with Low Vision Large Print Books.
For those who are Blind we have Books on CD, and Books on MP3.
The library will request any books in Large Print, CD/ Cassette or MP3 for free
in the state of Massachusetts through the Commonwealth Catalogue.
We can also request books from out of state at no cost if we can not find the title you are looking for in state.
